Anthony Barne MW, Wine Director at Bonhams, led us through an in-depth review of cool climate whites such as Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Gruner Veltliner.
Richard Bampfield MW re-ignited the great Pinot Noir debate with a comparative tasting of top notch Pinot Noir from around the world.
Stephen Brook, author of Liquid Gold and a world expert on dessert wines took us Beyond Sauternes.
Lance Foyster MW, Oxford graduate and Madeira expert showed us the finer points of that indestructible and miraculous elixir.
- Saturday 16 October 2004: Oxford Wine Forum at Wolfson College, Oxford - one day event. Unforgettable. I still cannot believe that I tasted wines worth £1,000 for the price of a couple of bottles of good claret.
